My favourite fish soup is creamy and rich and gets even better when you add
garlic aioli. But the best thing about it is that the main ingredient,
saithe, is one of the few fish stocks in Europe which has
actually never been overfished!
My concern for the seas began at the dinner table.
Why were all the fish I liked at risk of extinction? Now,
finally, all overfishing and fish dumping is supposed
to be phased out in Europe by 2015. This is one of
the European Greens’ big successes in the
European Parliament, and for me personally, it
is a dream come true!
The world can be changed for the better
through political action. And now I am even
more determined to fight to save our
seas and our environment.
